Scope and Contents: The material comprises Mackintosh's scientific and administrative correspondence during the period 1966-1994. Also, one box contains photocopies of personal material retained by his widow, Jette Mackintosh.
The scientific correspondence includes approximately 1300 correspondents.
The administrative correspondence includes applications, references, prizes, evaluations, etc.
The personal material is primarily newspaper clippings, mostly on the public debate on nuclear power stations in Denmark and related subjects in which Mackintosh took part with articles, letters and interviews.
Also includes copies of documents regarding membership of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters and the Royal Society, London.
